Core Acrobatics

Core Acrobatics

Core Acrobatics trains the cornerstone acrobatic flips taught at Paragym, derived mainly from gymnastics but adapted through the interactive approach of the PARA Method.

The class includes skills such as front flips, backflips, side flips, front handsprings, back handsprings, aerial cartwheels, flash kicks, front aerials, and round-offs.

Each movement is broken down into multiple progressive steps and gradually rebuilt to develop technique, understanding, and independence.

A spotting-based, team-training approach

Skills are trained first and foremost in spotting teams, or “training squads,” made up of two or three participants to promote safety and interactive learning.

Participants learn both how to perform a movement and how to spot it correctly. This approach helps students better understand the mechanics of each skill, build confidence, and gradually become more independent.

How does the training work?

The teaching approach combines several complementary training methods, including:

  • movement-specific flexibility;

  • targeted strength conditioning;

  • muscle activation drills;

  • coordination exercises;

  • visualization and technical progressions;

  • assisted team training before progressing toward more independent execution.
Which skills are trained?

Usually, one or two skills are trained during a given class. A specific theme of one or two movements is generally maintained throughout the month to allow for deeper and more consistent progression.

The beginning of the month typically includes more foundational drills and preparatory progressions. As participants improve, training progresses toward more complete and independent versions of the skills.

Can I join in the middle of the month?

Yes. If you already have the required level, you may join Core Acrobatics at any time. Your experience must be sufficient to follow the progressions and train safely with the other participants.

Required level:

Core Acrobatics is designed for Blue/Black level participants or those with equivalent experience. If you are unsure of your level, complete Paragym’s level quiz or ask a coach for approval.
